A Retreat with St. Hildegard of Bingen

St. Hildegard of Bingen was a 12th century "Renaissance" woman, whose visionary experiences informed her life, her music and her writings.  This retreat is an opportunity to immerse yourself in St. Hildegard's unique and unitive imagination of the cosmos in the context of her times, and to experience her concept of "viriditas," that is, the "greening power." We will explore her medicine, theology, philosophy of life, and music, while being enfolded in time for prayer, silence and time in nature.  St.  Hildegard's vision is particularly relevant in these times.

A three-day retreat, which includes an informal sharing of her music on Saturday evening.

Sacred Sound, Music & Healing

A retreat exploring and experiencing the cross-cultural healing elements of acoustic sound and music.

In this retreat we will experience why and how sound and music has been used as a healing science and art throughout human history.  Using our own voices, we will experience the natural power of vowels, consonants and intervals, and, learn simple, practical methods to use our own voice for self-care.

In our singing, we will explore and experience the therapeutic power of the primary elements of music, and we will spend time immersed in the magic and beauty of simple melody, song and chant from diverse cultures as profound prayer.
